Available Super Duty Engines & Transmission

The 7.3-litre gasoline V8 achieves the best power ratings in its class, making it an excellent option for hauling loads to the job site. You will benefit from commercial-grade durability along with performance and efficiency that's unmatched. With port fuel injection and a pushrod V8 design, you will have lots of torque at the low-end RPM, and the variable-cam timing brings more power to the top-end. This engine's reliability stems from its cast-iron block, which utilizes four-bolt and cross-bolted main bearings, along with a forged steel crankshaft. As a heavy-duty engine, the 7.3-litre V8 provides 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque, giving you sufficient output to get the job done right.

If you prefer diesel engines, the 6.7-litre Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel is the right engine for you. It has a new 36,000-psi fuel-injection system that lets the injectors spray fuel up to eight times per stroke for combustion optimization. In terms of figures, this engine produces 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque, giving you loads of torque to assist in towing. Supporting the higher torque output are a more robust block, cylinder heads, connector rods, bearings, and forged steel pistons. With this engine, you will have a new redesign for the electric actuated variable geometry turbocharger to enhance throttle response, allowing maximum torque at 1,600 RPM and maximum horsepower at 2,600 RPM.

As standard, you will have the 6.2-litre V8 on the F-250 and F-350 models, giving you outstanding torque ranging from the low- to mid-range of the power band. On the F-250, you will have a six-speed automatic transmission to pair with this engine, while the F-350 gets a ten-speed automatic transmission. From this engine, you can expect 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, giving you the power you need to haul your loads.

This heavy-duty transmission is available for all the Super Duty models, except the 6.2-litre V8 F-250. You will benefit from improved gear ratio optimization and better shifting between gears. You will have five modes to select from, including Normal, Slippery, Tow/Haul, Eco, and Deep Sand/Snow. An additional mode is available for models with the Tremor Off-Road Package, which adds Rock Crawl mode.
