Here's how to check the transmission fluid on your Ford!

How to Check the Transmission Fluid on a Ford

For models before 2012, you will need to drive the vehicle for about 32 kilometres to warm it up so it is at operating temperature. The vehicle must be on a level surface with the engine running. Check the transmission fluid using the transmission dipstick by wiping it, putting it back in, and pulling it out. The fluid should be between the two lines. Insert the dipstick back, and you are all set to drive. This process is different for models released between 2012 and 2018 because the cars have a draining valve but no transmission dipstick. You will need to locate the valve below the transmission bay to check the engine oil. Changing the transmission fluid is always messy because you must drain the old fluid.

Purchase the Ford

To change the transmission fluid, you need to get under the car while lying down and remove the plug to drop the pan and take out the transmission fluid. Leave that part to the experts. If your transmission fluid has fallen under the measuring lines on the dipstick, bring it to our Service Centre and let us handle it! Book an appointment at our Service Centre for expert consultation, transmission fluid levels check, and to change your transmission fluid!
